In the foothills where SMEs have legacy infrastructure and limited digital skills, it is still possible to collect valuable manufacturing data and gather insights from it. There are small steps which can be taken to scale up to the pinnacle. At the pinnacle, Big Data can be utilised, in the Cloud, AI used to implement machine learning, Remote condition monitoring, Energy and process optimisation data collected, analysed, action taken and visualised, even while working from home.

Strategic Product Manager for Automation, Bosch Rexroth
Paul has been working at Bosch Rexroth for almost 30 years, and is highly experienced in his field and specialises in Factory Automation. Areas of expertise include, Automation, Drives and Controls, motion control PLCs Factory Automation, Printing and Converting, Energy Efficiency, Assembly and Test.
Paul’s passion lies in the area of Industry 4.0, with supporting the formulation of the UK Industrial Strategy. Paul is hoping to demystify Industry 4.0 for SME’s by enabling their first steps towards connected industry.
In Pauls early career he has worked in various UK manufacturing companies involved in factory automation focusing on production engineering on the shop floor. Pioneer of 3D CAD/ CAM/ CAPPS, he worked in several engineering companies and in the early days of CAD/CAM he worked in numerous engineering companies and further developing his skills in shop floor communications. Paul then joined Indramat in sales and applications engineering which later became known as Rexroth Drives and Controls.
Danny Dunn
Hydraulics Product Specialist, Bosch Rexroth
Daniel spends his time helping customers identify problems, improvements and implementing solutions. Great products are nothing without users.
He has a background in Hydraulics and Industry 4.0-technologies with a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) focused in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hull.
Daniel began his career as a Hydraulic Service Apprentice over thirteen years ago and has since worked in technical sales and developed to become one of our leading Hydraulic Product Specialists, providing customers as well as our national sales team with vital technical and aftersales support.
Jonathan Wright
Strategic OEM Manager, Bosch Rexroth
In Jonathan’s world of Industry 4.0 and Factory Automation, there is nearly always a problem to solve, which he relishes and looks to engage with the right people, technologies and approach to arrive at the best possible solution.
As an experienced Product Specialist and consultant, Jonathan has worked with connected industry and Factory Automation solutions across the Automotive, Aerospace, Food and Packaging and OEM industry sectors. He is familiar with a large range of engineering technologies and philosophies including Industry 4.0, Linear Motion, Assembly and Manual Production Systems, Drive and Control Technologies and Pneumatics. He has a comprehensive understanding of the internal and customer requirements when delivering automation solutions with PC and PLC based architecture.
Jonathan started his career at Bosch Rexroth as a Project Engineer over twelve years ago and has worked within Engineering and Product Management and developed his role to become a strategic OEM Manager.
