Engineering and Technical Director, Babcock International
Neil is an Engineering & Technology Director, at Babcock International Group.
As Engineering Director he is responsible for 700+ engineers with a strong focus on marine systems and ship design in both in-service support and new builds. This is predominantly in the Naval sector, but with a core of framework clients in the commercial sector. The engineering team is spread throughout the UK together with supporting international projects.
Neil’s extensive experience in the Manufacturing and MRO industry has seen him lead and drive several major initiatives for Babcock including the wider application of technologies to better support Babcock’s customers and the business in the AM industry. He is currently delivering an Innovation Hub into Babcock’s Rosyth Facility as part of the new Arrol-Gibb Innovation Campus and a Composites Centre of Excellence, incorporating University of Edinburgh’s FASTBLADE accelerated fatigue testing facility for tidal blades.
Before joining Babcock Neil spent 20 years in the oil and gas industry working globally and delivering 50+ Floating Production Storage and Offloading systems (FPSOs), used for deep water oil field development. He also managed a technology portfolio with wide ranging technologies from water treatment, solids transportation, separation and waste to energy.
Neil is a Chemical Engineer by profession and a Fellow of the Institute of Chemical Engineers.
In his spare time Neil manages his small holding, Poplar Farm, where he makes his own cider and keeps pigs, sheep, chickens, turkeys, ducks and bees.

Andy Storer
CEO, Nuclear AMRC
Andrew was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Nuclear AMRC in August 2017, after joining as Managing Director in 2015.
Andrew has 30 years’ experience in the nuclear sector, from helping deliver large reactor components for Sizewell B at Northern Engineering Industries, to various manufacturing and engineering roles at Rolls-Royce. He was in charge of the UK submarine reactor component design group, before becoming the General Manager for through-life maintenance and support of the UK submarine reactor fleet. He then became Programme Director for Rolls-Royce's civil nuclear business, leading customer engagement and bids with new build developers.
He represents the Nuclear AMRC on the UK Nuclear Industry Council and is an active member of the NIA Delivery Group. He sits on various groups, committees and associations and leads a number of supply chain initiatives on behalf of UK industry and Government. He is a Visiting Professor of Nuclear Manufacturing and Capability Development at the University of Sheffield and a Fellow of the Nuclear Institute. He is also a non executive board member of the NIA and he leads the Winning UK Business group as part of the nuclear sector deal delivery with BEIS and DIT.
Rosa Wilkinson
Director of Communications, High Value Manufacturing Catapult
Rosa Wilkinson joined the High Value Manufacturing Catapult in 2017 as Director of Communications.
Previous roles included senior civil service posts at the Trade and Business Departments, as Director of Innovation at the Intellectual Property Office and as Director of Public Policy for Lloyds TSB.
Outside the Catapult, Rosa retains an involvement in her family’s industrial property business. She is a non-executive with the MTA and a member of the Royal Academy of Engineering’s External Affairs Committee.
From March to the start of July 2020 she led communications for the VentilatorChallengeUK Consortium.
